This new antenna provides a higher gain alternative to our lower profile body mount antenna. Using a collinear configuration, it provides 5 dBi gain and is easy to install. When additional performance is needed, this high gain antenna is an excellent solution.Models are available for either 1.9 GHz PCS/GPRS or for 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g. The design uses a 3/4" NMO style mount (19 mm) for securing to the vehicle. The NMO mount/cable assembly is supplied. The antenna is ground plane dependent, and must be attached to a metal surface. The antennas are out fitted with 15 feet (4.5 meters) of RF-195 cable & TNC, SMA or N male connectors. Other connectors can be supplied where required. The connectors are supplied loose, and would be attached after installation. A crimp tool with appropriate hex die would be required. Upon request, connectors can be preinstalled at the factory. N connectors are normally supplied loose to ease cable routing/field installation. The antenna has a 302 stainless steel whip, which offers some flexibility. The base assembly uses an ABS collar with a chrome plated brass base. The bottom base is out fitted with a captured "O" ring for complete sealing. The 3/4" mounting assembly (19 mm) has a tilt-able assembly that is installed from the top side of the vehicle. An exterior lock ring secures the assembly from the top. The antenna then simply screws onto the mount. The antenna can be removed for overhead obstructions.
